| Description | Similar to ticket 1167 but in my case AlmaLinux 8.8 installer on a DELL PowerEdge 2950 dual Xeon 5430 don't recognize the RAID controller PERC 5i which was always automatically recognized since RHEL 5 to ScientificLinux 7.9. I tried the workaround with the following post reference, I tested with several ElRepo modules intended for the LSI RAID boards but I get a modprobe error after indicating the secondary USB stick with the elrepo drivers Reference : https://elrepo.org/bugs/view.php?id=1167 Any help, I also failed on Centos Stream 8 but is known that ElRepo don't support it. Any help, never imagined these barebone servers were discarded by RHEL, very still useful pieces of hardware | ||||

Solved use the download option with the module version 7.719.03.00-1 that is a bit newer than the one used by the user in ticket 1167, the parameter (uting tab key) for the installer : ip=dhcp inst.dd=https://elrepo.org/linux/dud/el8/x86_64/dd-megaraid_sas-07.719.03.00-1.el8_6.elrepo.iso Supposing a dhcp server is on your LAN and you have access to the internet, not tested the installation yet but at least the PERC 5i was detected and shows the partiitions on the discs |

I have rebuilt packages against the RHEL 8.8 kernel and uploaded for release: kmod-megaraid_sas-07.719.03.00-3.el8_8.elrepo.src.rpm kmod-megaraid_sas-07.719.03.00-3.el8_8.elrepo.x86_64.rpm I have also released new DUD images for el8.8: dd-megaraid_sas-07.719.03.00-3.el8_8.elrepo.iso dd-megaraid_sas-07.719.03.00-3.el8_8.elrepo.SHA256SUM.asc All should be available on mirror sites shortly. We would appreciate any feedback on whether these packages fix the issue for you. |

Just seen your previous note - glad the partitions are showing up under 8.6. If you are able to try the latest 8.8 release, feedback always appreciated :-) Thanks |
