Summary | 0000967: Please enable btrfs file system support for EL8 kernel-ml
Description | I'm using btrfs as the primary file system for my VMs. The two primary use cases for myself are the full OS subvolume snapshots and copy-on-write. In the current elrepo EL7 kernel-ml 5.2.14 that I'm using on CentOS 7, btrfs is available. I'm also monitoring the status of Oracle's UEK kernel for Oracle Linux 8 hoping that they would include btrfs support.

Acknowledged. I have queued the appropriate adjustment to the configuration file for the next routine build of the package set. The kernel-ml-5.3.12-1.el8.elrepo package set will be built once the upstream sources have been released, due sometime within the next two days. |

The recently released kernel-ml-5.3.12-1.el8.elrepo package set [1] contains the requested configuration settings -- CONFIG_BTRFS_FS=m and CONFIG_BTRFS_FS_POSIX_ACL=y Now closing as "resolved/fixed". [1] http://lists.elrepo.org/pipermail/elrepo/2019-November/004937.html |
