Summary | 0000948: Request for 3Ware 9690SA RAID Controller (3w-9xxx) series
Description | Hi and thanks for all your hard work on elrepo. Upgraded from 6.x to 8.0, and see that the 3Ware 9690SA drivers have been removed as per https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html/considerations_in_adopting_rhel_8/hardware-enablement_considerations-in-adopting-rhel-8 Would it be possible to add a RHEL8 kmod for the 3w-9690SA controllers (3w-9xxx series) ? lspci output: 01:00.0 RAID bus controller [0104]: 3ware Inc 9690SA SAS/SATA-II RAID PCIe Thanks for your consideration.

Would you please show the Vendor:Device ID pairing for the device. Output that is produced by executing the following -- lspci -nn | grep RAID |
lspci -nn | grep RAID 01:00.0 RAID bus controller [0104]: 3ware Inc 9690SA SAS/SATA-II RAID PCIe [13c1:1005] (rev 01) |
Do you also need a driver update disk? |
Hi and not for me thanks, I don't boot from the 3ware controllers. |
kmod-3w-9xxx-2.26.02.014-1.el8_0.elrepo.x86_64.rpm has been released and is currently syncing to our mirror sites. I created dd-3w-9xxx-2.26.02.014-1.el8_0.elrepo.iso as well. Someone else may have a need for that. |

Thanks and looks great. All raid groups have materialized, PV's, VGs and LVs are all there and basic I/O works (as expected). tw_cli from 3Ware is also looking good: /c6 Driver Version = 2.26.02.014 /c6 Model = 9690SA-8E /c6 Available Memory = 448MB /c6 Firmware Version = FH9X 4.10.00.027 /c6 Bios Version = BE9X 4.08.00.004 /c6 Boot Loader Version = BL9X 3.08.00.001 /c6 PCB Version = Rev 042 /c6 PCHIP Version = 2.00 /c6 ACHIP Version = 1.31A6 /c6 Controller Phys = 8 Unit UnitType Status ------------------------------- u0 RAID-5 OK u1 RAID-5 OK u2 RAID-5 OK u3 RAID-5 OK u4 RAID-5 OK Extract: 3ware 9000 Storage Controller device driver for Linux v2.26.02.014. scsi host6: 3ware 9000 Storage Controller 3w-9xxx: scsi6: Found a 3ware 9000 Storage Controller at 0xf7d20000, IRQ: 16. 3w-9xxx: scsi6: Firmware FH9X 4.10.00.027, BIOS BE9X 4.08.00.004, Ports: 128. scsi 6:0:0:0: Direct-Access AMCC 9690SA-8E DISK 4.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 scsi 6:0:1:0: Direct-Access AMCC 9690SA-8E DISK 4.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 scsi 6:0:2:0: Direct-Access AMCC 9690SA-8E DISK 4.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 scsi 6:0:3:0: Direct-Access AMCC 9690SA-8E DISK 4.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 scsi 6:0:4:0: Direct-Access AMCC 9690SA-8E DISK 4.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 sd 6:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg4 type 0 sd 6:0:0:0: [sde] 23437436928 512-byte logical blocks: (12.0 TB/10.9 TiB) sd 6:0:1:0: Attached scsi generic sg5 type 0 sd 6:0:2:0: Attached scsi generic sg6 type 0 sd 6:0:0:0: [sde] Write Protect is off sd 6:0:0:0: [sde] Mode Sense: 23 00 10 00 The quick turnaround on this is very much appreciated!
