| Description | Please include the Ceph RBD module in your builds of the kernel-ml. As much as I enjoying compiling the kernel as the next person, it sure would save me a lot of time. Plus, others in the Ceph community would appreciate it. Device Drivers -> Block devices -> Rados block device (RBD) Thanks! | ||||

We are always willing to accommodate requests to adjust the kernel configuration, assuming that it does not cause any adverse effects for existing users. CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RBD=m is now set for the EL7 kernel package sets and will be apparent with the next build. Thank you for that offer, it is good to know. I am not expecting there to be any problems with that simple configuration change because CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RBD=m had been set for all of our kernels, EL5 and EL6, for quite some time. Until your report, EL7 was just the "odd one out". |

With the release of the kernel-ml-3.17.3-1.el7 package set this RFE has been fulfilled. Now closing as "resolved/fixed". |
