| Description | Hello, I just bought a gigabyte h810m gaming wifi6 and the flag isn't set: # CONFIG_RTW89_8851BE is not set Can it be added? This chip seems to be quite common. The driver found on github requires too many changes to be compiled. Thank you. | ||||

@alexisfrjp We are still waiting for the next upstream kernel (7.1.9). You are currently running kernel-ml-6.15.8-1.el9.elrepo. This is more than a year old. Is there any reason why you cannot update the kernel? Once we enable rtw8851be in the next release, you'd *have* to update the running kernel. We'd also like to know why you cannot use the distro kernel. |

@toracat, sorry about that, it booted to a dangling version when I created the issue. I tried the latest kernel-ml 7.1.8-1.el9.elrepo.x86_64. I'm currently already using the distro kernel 5.14.0-687.38.1.el9_8. Thank you about that, I'll update to the latest kernel-ml once it's released. |

@alexisfrjp If you use the distro kernel, there is potentially a better option for you. We may be able to provide a kmod package for your wifi device. So stay tuned. |
