Description | Hi: I tried to load isci 8.10 DUD at RHEL 8.10 kernel 4.18.0-553-el8_10.x86_64 but failed (many unknown symbols). Could the module and DUD rebuild against EL8.10? I'm lost here. Thanks for the help! | ||||

Are you using the final release version of RHEL 8.10? Can you send the output for these commands? 1. cat /etc/redhat-release 2. uname -r 3. rpm -q kernel 4. dmesg (full dmesg output) |

Hi, Yes I'm using the lates version available in the web page of RHEL. I attach the output of the commands requested. The command rpm -q kernel don't throw "package kernel is not installed", because the system is not installed, its in the process of being installed, but don't detect the hard drive. It appears the RHEL installer is having an issue with modprobe. While we are investigating the issue, please try the following workaround: - when the installer reaches the graphical stage, change to a terminal (ex: CTRL+ALT+F2) - manually run "modprobe isci" - return to the installer (ex: CTRL+ALT+F6) Please let us know if this workaround is successful for you. |

Sorry for the delay in my answer. I've been away the last Friday. I try your workaround, and... It works!!!. The module is loaded in the install process manually and the disk is detected by the OS. I'll get to you when the install is finished. Thank you very much!!!! |

Thank you for confirming the workaround. It is good news that it works. Please let us know if it survives rebooting after installation. It would be good to know that it is successfully incorporated into the initramfs image without any further end-user actions. |
