Hi,

No it didn't work with 4.18.0-513.5.1.el8_9, I had to downgrade the kernel and the kmod-ath5k packages.
Only recently had time to try again and report the bug.

Could you do a test-install of elrepo's kernel-ml?

This will tell us if the latest code for the ath5k driver works.

Hi,
After installing kernel-ml (6.6.10-1) both
kmod-ath5k-0.0-10 (rocky 8.8)
and
kmod-ath5k-0.0-11 (rocky 8.9)
seem to work OK.

Hi,
When you are running kernel-ml-6.6.10, it is using the in-kernel ath5k driver, not the kmod-supplied driver (which will only work - or not in this case - with the distro kernel)
You can use kernel-ml (a newer kernel) as a workaround, until we are able to figure out why kmod-ath5k is not working with the distro kernel.
Anyway, glad you have a working solution for now. I will update this ticket if we are able to provide a fix for kmod-ath5k

 We have a fix for the Atheros ath5k driver issue. I was able to test it against the following hardware:
- D-Link DWL-G520 (rev B3) PCI
- D-Link DWL-G650 (rev B5) PC Cardbus
- NETGEAR WG311T (rev A2) PCI
- NETGEAR WG511T (rev 3) PC Cardbus

The following files should be syncing to our mirrors:
kmod-ath5k-0.0-12.el8_9.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
kmod-ath5k-0.0-12.el8_9.elrepo.src.rpm

Can you please test against any of the stock RHEL 8.9 kernels and provide feedback?

I can confirm that the ath5k driver is now working OK for my HP Compaq C700 laptop (most recent kernel).
