| Description | I have upgraded one of my machines from CentOS 7 to Rocky Linux 8.5. My SCSI RAID (external) and an Ultrium Tape (attached to Adaptec AIC-7892A U160 controller) stopped working as there is no aic7xxx driver available in the kernel. In C7, I had that driver installed from ElRepo (kmod-aic7xxx) but for RL8 it is also not available. Could you please add it? | ||||

Just to note, until such time as we are able to create a package for the missing aic7xxx driver, you could try out our kernel-lt or kernel-ml packages for el8 which do (or should, I've not checked) contain the missing aic7xxx driver and offer native support. They are available by enabling the 'elrepo-kernel' channel and installing kernel-lt or kernel-ml. https://elrepo.org/linux/kernel/el8/x86_64/RPMS/ |

Wow, solution in 6 hours, I am really impressed and thankful. Also, soon after I submitted the original request I have found the kernel-lt package to include both aic7xxx and sky2 (Marvell Ethernet) modules. But it surely will be very convenient to have a package suited for the 'mainstream' kernel. The kmod-sky2 is already there. |

You're very welcome. Just a quick note to add that our kmod packages are not compatible with our kernel-lt and kernel-ml packages (not that they would be needed in this case). Our kmod packages will only work with the distro kernel(s) Merry Christmas! |
