We have not been able to build this module for el8. However, our updated kernel-ml (currently 5.14) has the driver enabled, so running that kernel should give you native support for your wireless device. You can install this updated kernel like so: dnf --enablerepo=elrepo-kernel install kernel-ml kernel-ml-core kernel-ml-modules |

i did that and it installed the kernel, rebooted, selected it, but still shows no wifi in the connection dialog. I'm sorry to ask, but is it there another step after this that I should do? Thank you! |

Is the module loaded? If not, what happens when you try to load the module? Any messages in dmesg or /var/log/messages The driver requires the following firmware which is available in the linux-firmware package, so please install if not already installed /usr/lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8188eufw.bin If the firmware is missing, you should see a warning in dmesg as you load the module ('modprobe r8188eu') |
