| Description | If this is in the wrong category or project feel free to move it :-) Looking to use drbd as part of HA cluster - trails and investigations have all gone well. However we currently run Centos7 and will do until EOL and we notice that Centos 7: kmod-drbd90-9.0.22-3.el7_9.elrepo.x86_64 drbd90-utils-9.12.2-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64 Centos 8: kmod-drbd90-9.0.29-1.el8_4.elrepo.x86_64 drbd90-utils-9.17.0-1.el8.elrepo.x86_64 These being the latest installs today via rpm --import https://www.elrepo.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-elrepo.org centOS 7: rpm -Uvh http://www.elrepo.org/elrepo-release-7.0-2.el7.elrepo.noarch.rpm centOS 8: rpm -Uvh https://www.elrepo.org/elrepo-release-8.el8.elrepo.noarch.rpm yum install -y kmod-drbd90 drbd90-utils Please provide these later versions of the two packages for CentOS7 please so that 7 benefits from the same fixes etc. Best regards | ||||

Packages have been updated and released to the testing repository. Mirrors are currently syncing and the following packages should be available shortly: kmod-drbd90-9.0.30-1.el7_9.elrepo.x86_64.rpm drbd90-utils-9.18.1-1.el7.x86_64.rpm drbd90-utils-sysvinit-9.18.1-1.el7.x86_64.rpm Please can you test and report back any issues. There seem to have been quite a few changes in the upstream. I'm wondering if we should be shipping drbd90-utils-sysvinit on el7 which uses systemd? I'm pushed it to testing for now as it seems to be in the main repo, but would appreciate feedback if we can remove it assuming no one is using it? Thanks |

Hiya - thanks for that. On my test VMs Ive updated to these latest versions from elrepo-testing, and all seems fine/normal. I'll underline these arev only test VMs athat are under no use at all - ive just set up drbd, HA cluster and mysql and typical failover tests seem to work as expected. Ian |

Thank you for your feedback. Packages have been moved to the main repository. We have also removed the sysvinit packages from the repo as these should not be required on el7 (using systemd) |

sorry to bug you :-) Quick query - are updates to elrepo-testing, and thence to main, done regularly? Or only on request via these forums? many thanks ian |

No trouble. As none of the elrepo devs personally use drbd, we would only routinely update the packages should we notice they've broken during a RHEL point release, so if you want regular updates you'll probably have to follow upstream releases and request them here :-) We are always looking for package maintainers if anyone wants to volunteer to maintain these (or any) packages. Full training/support given, limited skills required, and you get to join elrepo :-D |
