Summary | 0001034: DUD for kmod-mlx4-4.0-3.el8_2.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
Description | Hi, This is my first time making a request. I hope I have the right category I installed kmod-mlx4-4.0-3.el8_2.elrepo.x86_64.rpm and it works great! Thanks for that. I would like to be able to install the driver as part of the OS install so I can automate and/or use the GUI to configure the ethernet settings. If there is a guide on how to do this somewhere, I would be happy to help out. The docs I have found so far were not great. Thanks

Have you seen our blog? http://elrepoproject.blogspot.com/2019/08/rhel-80-and-support-for-removed-adapters.html There's a link to a tutorial video which I think is quite helpful: https://youtu.be/4fOAuXiynYM |

@toracat: Thanks for the links. After rereading what I submitted I should clarify that I was looking for a guide on how to make DUD's. I was looking to help out where I can. Any chance you have some links for DUD creation? I spent some time on it yesterday but for some reason I could not get it working. |

@HankTheCrank, Sorry for the confusion! We have made available the script we use at our github repository: https://github.com/elrepo/elrepo-scripts To create the DUD, simply drop the kmod RPM and SRPM files into a dir, and run the script like so: mkdd.sh kmod-foo-<release>-<version>.rpm Hope that helps |

[copied from the old site] (0007215) HankTheCrank (reporter) 2020-09-19 14:13 @pperry, Thanks! I finally had a need to make another dud and it worked like a charm. A couple of notes for others who, like me, are new to this: 1. Install createrepo 2. Install mkisofs After these are installed, you are ready to use the script. |

Now closing as resolved. |
