Description | Hello. Please update the wacom-kmod kernel module to the latest version. I already build new package a week ago and tested it on various Wacom tablets with CentOS 7.4-1708 LiveDVD. COPR repo: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/scx/wacom-kmod/ Latest SRPM file : https://copr-be.cloud.fedoraproject.org/results/scx/wacom-kmod/epel-7-x86_64/00655609-wacom-kmod/wacom-kmod-0.37.1-4.el7.centos.src.rpm Latest SPEC file: https://copr-be.cloud.fedoraproject.org/results/scx/wacom-kmod/epel-7-x86_64/00655609-wacom-kmod/wacom-kmod.spec Copy: http://wklej.org/hash/3e141c9d542/txt/ As you can see, the SPEC file has many improvements since my first version that I published in 2016. It can auto-update the kmodtool script, auto-detect (and build) all supported modules (e.g. wacom.ko, wacom_w8001.ko, hid-wacom.ko, wacom_i2c.ko, etc.), auto-create the /etc/depmod.d/kmod-wacom.conf file, and other features. It also has support for both SourceForge and GitHub sources. Thank you in advance for your reply. | ||||

Are you maintaining this package in EPEL/COPR? I don't see any point us maintaining the package separately here so we may as well deprecate our package and refer users to your offering, especially given your SPEC file has substantially deviated from our packaging guidelines. |

Not exactly. I updated package because I needed a newer version of Wacom module for testing purpose. However, I don't have access to new tablets on a daily basis so I can't guarantee the compatibility of this module with new devices. I created original SPEC for wacom-kmod so updating it wasn't a problem for me. https://elrepo.org/bugs/view.php?id=636 https://elrepo.org/bugs/view.php?id=729 I made every effort to make update process as simple as possible. Hence, there is so much of auto-detecting stuff (no more need for manual editing kmodtool script, managing entries in the /etc/depmod.d/kmod-wacom.conf file, choosing correct modules, etc.). Please remember that it is NOT official package for EPEL. Moreover, Copr is not yet officially supported by Fedora Infrastructure. I think that this package should remain in ELRepo repository, but it would be nice if you use my improvements. |

Thank you. Unfortunately I can not use your SPEC file as is, as there are lots of additions that do not meet the guidelines for elrepo. Does our 0.37.1 package not work for you on el7? I can confirm compatibility of the kmod-wacom-0.37.1-1.el7_4.elrepo.x86_64.rpm module with Wacom Intuos Creative Pen & Touch (M) Tablet ("CTH-680S-N" / "CTH-680/S6-BX") [056a:0303].
