| Description | I am facing an issue with amdgpu driver requiring some binary blob in /lib/firmware. Some investigation led me to discover that there's only a version of the package as per subject in elrepo-extras, and I'm wondering whether it maps kernel-lt or kernel-ml. Besides, the latest available version in elrepo pre-dates the one in baseos (103.2 vs 110). | ||||

@spomata Can you perform the following test? (1) sudo su - (2) cd /usr/lib/firmware/amdgpu/ (3) ls -l gc_*_pfp.bin (4) wget https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/tree/amdgpu/gc_10_3_6_pfp.bin (5) ls -l gc_*_pfp.bin And ensure that the owner/group/permissions of the new blob (seen in step (5), above) agrees with the other blob (seen in step (3), above). |

@toracat I had already downloaded the blob from the git repo and yes, it does work indeed. I opened the bug report mainly because a user on #elrepo IRC channel suggested me to do it, in order for the maintainers to be aware of the issue. |

@burakkucat Ha! Thanks for the answer. As I mentioned in the other note, I opened a bug report for you to be aware of the package being outdated, but probably you already were :) Didn't mean to put any pressure, you are already doing a great work. Can I be of any help? I'm quite skilled in Linux admin/maintenance, although I have zero experience in packaging and probably kernel is a very sensitive area to begin with. Let me know. Thanks |
