Summary | 0001309: Request: Floppy module for RHEL8, RHEL9 (kmod)
Description | Clark Hale (Principal Architect, Red Hat Consulting) wrote in an email message (received 5 Jan 2023, 17:22) --
Salutations El Repo, RHEL8 removed support for legacy floppy drives [0]. I'd like to request that you all build the floppy module for RHEL8 and RHEL9, please. Thanks in advance! -CFH [0] https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html/considerations_in_adopting_rhel_8/hardware-enablement_considerations-in-adopting-rhel-8
| ||||
Additional Information | This is the same request as bug#1308 which is to provide a kernel-ml package set with the floppy module enabled.

Built and released to the main repository: kmod-floppy-0.0-1.el9_1.elrepo.x86_64.rpm Built against RHEL 9.1 kernel. Not backward compatible. |
|
It looks like kmod-floppy for el8 fails to build and so will not be published. Note that kernel-ml has the floppy module enabled for both el8 and el9. |
