| Description | We tried to add ithe rtw89 driver to the lt kernel, but did not work. Several new HP laptops now have this WiFi/Bluetooth module in them. Hopefully I am posting this in the correct area. Thanks | ||||

Hi, Thanks for the request. Checking the config files, it would appear support has only been added in kernel 6.2.0 which still at release candidate (RC) stage. We do try to perform test builds of the release candidates, assuming they will build, and if so you can find copies here: https://elrepo.org/people/ajb/devel/kernel-ml/el9/x86_64/RPMS/ Perhaps you would like to test rc2 and see if the driver works as expected for you. Please note these builds are not signed with the usual elrepo release key and are provided as is for testing purposes only. |

Please now test with our recently released kernel-ml-6.2.0-1.el9.elrepo package set. [1] That kernel has support for the requested WiFI driver enabled as a module (CONFIG_RTW89_8852BE=m). [1] https://lists.elrepo.org/pipermail/elrepo/2023-February/006380.html |

@toracat Wish I could now. We switched over to the MediaTek MT7922 (RK616). Since they have tri-band. Allot of changes going on. Still have a RTL8852BE siting here, if someone would like it, to test. |
