| Description | Hello! Can you help me with installation driver for mt7601u wifi adapter on CentOS7? On Debian I installed it from stretch-backport, but I can't install this driver on CentOS7. I wrote on community forum CentOS, but forum moderator answered: "Unfortunately it appears there is no driver for that card in CentOS itself nor is there one in the 3rd party yum repo, ELRepo, who specialise in hardware support. You could try opening an RFE request on the ELRepo bug tracker." Can you help me with it? | ||||

While the CentOS distro kernel does not have the mt7601u driver as pointed out in your forum thread, CentOS does offer a couple of newer kernels: kernel-4.14: http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/kernel/x86_64/Packages/ kernel-4.19: http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/experimental/x86_64/Packages/ Both kernels have that driver enabled. So you may want to give them a try. |

My fellow ELRepo admin, @burakkucat, has built a kmod package for the driver: kmod-mt7601u-4.14.108-1.el7_6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm It's been released to the elrepo-testing repository and is currently syncing to our mirrors. Please test and let us know if it works for you. |

Hello! I did not expect it, but the driver worked for me. CentOS 7 standard core. I installed the driver and the adapter was working. Thank you so much! |
