According to our compatibility test, the one built for el8.6 installed fine on el8.7. However this does not necessarily mean that the module loads and functions without any issue. We will be re-building the package for el8.7.

Updated packages for RHEL8 have been built and released to the main elrepo repository. Packages should be available to download from our mirror sites shortly:

kmod-aacraid-1.2.1-8.el8_7.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

Please can you test and confirm the package works for you.

We are unable to build DUD images for RHEL8.7 due to a bug in an earlier 8.7 kernel. If you need images for installation, I would suggest installing against an 8.6 install and then updating to 8.7.

Feedback received by email:

Hi,
Here is the feedback after testing the driver.

I was running the server at RHEL 8.4. Updated the version using dnf update to 8.7. Installed the kmod.aacraid driver for 8.6. System was still working. Installed the driver shared now for 8.7. The driver got installed successfully, On reboot, it was not detecting the disks.
I also tried installing a fresh RHEL 8.7 using this driver, it again did not detect the disks.
I tried installing back the old running version of RHEL 8.4 with the kmod.aacraid driver at 8.4. It detected the disks and was able to bring up the server.
.
It looks there is some issue with latest kmod.aacraid driver of 8.7.

Hi,
I tried installing with RHEL8.6 and the kmod.aacraid driver for 8.6 it installed successfully.
It is confirmed that the kmod.aacraid driver shared for 8.7 is only not working.
It will be of help if you can fix the issue and share the working kmod.aacraid driver for RHEL 8.7.
Balasayee.

Hi,
I'm afraid you will need to provide more information than "it's not working"
For the non-working installation, please show the following:
rpm -q kmod-aacraid
uname -a
find /lib/modules -name aacraid\*

Please also show messages from dmesg when you load / unload the driver.

Thanks
