Summary0001243: kmod-wireguard no longer working on RHEL 8.4
DescriptionHello,

This is a duplicate of this[1] issue. I'm not sure if you guys want to keep track of things here as well. kmod-wireguard can no longer be installed on RHEL 8.4. The last working version was kmod-wireguard-1.0.20210606-1.el8_4.elrepo. All the new versions require having RHEL 8.6. Could 8.4 be supported again, considering it's an LTS version?

Thank you

Good question.
ELRepo only "supports" the latest kernel release. We are unable to offer any guarantees for EUS because we do not have access to those kernels to test (plus it is not practical to maintain up to date package releases for multiple different kernels). However, all previously released packages are still available in our archives, but they will not be receiving further updates. Look for a local repo that carries the archive here on our download page:
http://elrepo.org/tiki/Download
The latest el8.4 release is here:
http://mirrors.coreix.net/elrepo/archive/elrepo/el8/x86_64/RPMS/kmod-wireguard-1.0.20210606-1.el8_4.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

I should add that technically, there is a chance that kmod packages built against newer kernels will work for older kernels. However, this is almost certainly not the case here as the ABI for some of the kernel symbols used by wireguard have changed between RHEL point releases, hence there are "newer" versions built for el8.4, el8.5 and el8.6 etc.
