Summary | 0000805: Please enable Southern Islands (SI) and Sea Islands (CIK) support for AMDGPU
Description | Could you please set CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_SI=Y and CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_CIK=Y on your next release?

Acknowledged. Having checked the current configuration, the requested additions appear to be quite straightforward. As we already have CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU=m set (i.e. AMD Radeon graphics card), the documented module options (below) will need to be used. --------------------------------------------------------------- CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_SI: Choose this option if you want to enable experimental support for SI asics. SI is already supported in radeon. Experimental support for SI in amdgpu will be disabled by default and is still provided by radeon. Use module options to override this: radeon.si_support=0 amdgpu.si_support=1 --------------------------------------------------------------- CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_CIK: Choose this option if you want to enable support for CIK asics. CIK is already supported in radeon. Support for CIK in amdgpu will be disabled by default and is still provided by radeon. Use module options to override this: radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1 --------------------------------------------------------------- The requested configuration additions will be implemented in our next build of both the kernel-lt and kernel-ml package sets. |
One minor change in respect of the kernel-lt package set build is that only the following addition can be applied -- CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_CIK=Y |
With the recent release of the updated kernel-lt [1] and kernel-ml [2] package sets, this request has been fulfilled. Now closing as "resolved/fixed". [1] http://lists.elrepo.org/pipermail/elrepo/2017-December/003999.html [2] http://lists.elrepo.org/pipermail/elrepo/2017-December/003982.html |

Still not enabled for mainline kernel on CentOS 6 # grep DRM_AMD ./config-4.14.7-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64 CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU=m # CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_SI is not set # CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_CIK is not set # CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_USERPTR is not set # CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_GART_DEBUGFS is not set # CONFIG_DRM_AMD_ACP is not set |

@ndimou As far as I can see, your request was for EL7. You should/could have either submitted another request in the el6 category OR mentioned "both el7 and el6" in the current request. |
I'm really sorry as I must have missed that. Could you please apply the changes for both el7 and el6 or should I open a new ticket just for el6? |
A cloned request has been created for EL6 -- https://elrepo.org/bugs/view.php?id=807 Please monitor the request from there. |
