Summary 0000060: pac207 (web)cam not working with kmod-video4linux
Description The Pixart pac207 webcam (marketed, e.g., as a microscope camera by Bresser/Meade), does not work with the pac207 driver included in kmod-video4linux.
The device is properly recognized by the kernel, but applications are unable to retrieve an image. For details please refer to this thread:
https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=25829&forum=39 [^]
Additional Information The dkms-gspca driver from rpmforge appears to work as expected. One obvious difference between the two concerns the camera LED. With the dkms driver it lights up immediately after connecting the device, whereas it stays dark with the kmod package.
